
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala today. During this, he visited the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC). Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Minister of State Muraleedharan, and ISRO Chairman S Somnath were also present on the occasion.
Three important projects inaugurated
PM Modi inaugurated three important projects to promote the space sector. These projects are the PSLV Integration Facility at Satish Dhawan Space Center Sriharikota, the new 'Semi-Cryogenics Integrated Engine and Stage Test Facility' at ISRO Propulsion Complex at Mahendragiri and the 'Trisonic Wind Tunnel' at VSSC Thiruvananthapuram. It has cost about Rs 1800 crore to prepare them.
Announcement of names of astronauts
PM announced the names of the astronauts to be sent to space by the Gaganyaan mission. These astronauts are Prashant Balakrishnan Nair, Ajit Krishnan, Angad Pratap, and Shubhanshu Shukla. PM gave space wings to astronauts. Let us tell you that, Gaganyaan Mission is India's first human space flight program, for which extensive preparations are going on in various centers of ISRO.
Raised slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai
"I want everyone to stand up and applaud our courageous astronauts," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center in Thiruvananthapuram. Along with applause, the PM raised slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai.
He said, 'Today we all are witnessing a historic journey. Some time ago the country became acquainted with its four Gaganyaan passengers for the first time. These are not just four names and four humans, these are four forces carrying 140 crore aspirations into space. After 40 years, an Indian is going to go to space. But this time the time is also ours, the countdown is also ours and the rocket is also ours.
India is taking off to become the top three economies of the world
He further said, 'I was very happy to know that most of the equipment used in Gaganyaan is 'Made in India'. What a great coincidence it is that when India is taking off to become the top three economies of the world, at the same time India's Gaganyaan is also going to take our space sector to a new height.
PM Modi said that women's power is being given great importance in our space sector. Be it Chandrayaan or Gaganyaan, no such mission can be imagined without women scientists.
