More than two months have passed since Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's Parliament membership was reinstated after the stay on his sentence in the defamation case, but Rahul Gandhi has not yet returned to his old government bungalow. According to media reports, Rahul Gandhi is still living in Sonia Gandhi's bungalow at 10 Janpath. Leaders close to the Gandhi family say that it is not yet clear when Rahul Gandhi will return to his bungalow at 12, Tughlaq Lane.

Let us tell you that Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Gujarat court in the defamation case regarding Modi's surname. Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha membership was canceled under the rules after he was found guilty in the defamation case and sentenced to two years in prison. Due to this, he had to vacate his government bungalow at 12 Tughlaq Lane in New Delhi on 23 April 2023. Rahul Gandhi lived in this bungalow for 19 years. Rahul Gandhi has vacated the government bungalow and shifted to Sonia Gandhi's bungalow at 10, Janpath.

Despite a Supreme Court order, Rahul Gandhi has not returned to his old bungalow.

After being disqualified from membership of Parliament for 137 days, on August 7, the Supreme Court upheld the sentence of Rahul Gandhi. After which Rahul Gandhi's Parliament membership was restored and on August 8, the Lok Sabha Secretariat re-allocated his old bungalow at 12, Tughlaq Lane to Rahul Gandhi. However, even after more than two months, Rahul Gandhi has not yet returned to the old bungalow and is still conducting his political activities from 10 Janpath.
