RCB vs LSG Playing 11: Will Rahul enter as an impact player again? Topley may get a place in RCB

Posted on 2nd Apr 2024 11:35 am by rohit kumar

Lucknow Supergiants' regular captain KL Rahul took the field as an impact player in the last match against Punjab Kings. Lucknow has to face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) today and once again all eyes will be on whether Rahul will enter this match as an impact player or will be seen handling the responsibility completely. Lucknow management says that Rahul should not be given too much workload while returning from injury, hence he is being played as an impact player. It is believed that Nicholas Puran will be seen commanding the team against RCB also.

Rahul shed sweat on the nets

Rahul sweated profusely in the nets before the match against RCB, but the team management has not yet clarified his role. When Lucknow's standby captain Puran was asked about Nicholas' availability, he said, 'We will see what Rahul does during practice and take a decision on that basis.' Rahul batted during the net session but stayed away from wicketkeeping. This indicates that Rahul will not be in the role of wicketkeeper in today's match and Quinton de Kock will take charge behind the wicket in his place. It is known that before the start of the IPL, the BCCI medical team had given a green signal to Rahul and advised him not to play as a wicketkeeper in the first few matches, but Rahul played as a wicketkeeper in the first match this season.

Duplessis will have to perform better

Faf Duplessis, who has not been able to impress with his bat so far in the current season of IPL, will have to perform better against Lucknow. Duplessis' bat is on fire against the Lucknow bowlers. Duplessis has scored runs at a strike rate of 155.6 against Ravi Bishnoi and Shivam Mavi, while his strike rate against Krunal Pandya is 127.

Kohli's bat is speaking loudly

The bat of Virat Kohli, who returned to the field from IPL after a long time, is also speaking strongly in this season of IPL. He has scored half-centuries in the last two matches. If Lucknow wants to put pressure on RCB, then they will have to send Kohli to the pavilion soon. However, other batsmen of the team are not performing well and Kohli is not getting anyone's support from the other end. Apart from Kohli, Duplessis, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, and Cameron Green also need to perform better.

RCB's main bowlers have not been able to impress

Bangalore's concerns are not limited to its batsmen not being able to perform consistently. Even its main bowlers have not been able to impress till now. RCB's fast bowling department is dependent on Mohammed Siraj who has taken two wickets in three matches so far. Till now Siraj has conceded runs at the rate of 10 runs per over. Apart from this, Alzarri Joseph has also failed. Joseph has taken one wicket so far and it is expected that RCB will not give him a chance in the playing 11 against Lucknow. RCB can give a chance to Reece Topley or Lockie Ferguson in place of Joseph.

Eyes will again be on new speed sensation Mayank Yadav

It is a matter of relief for Lucknow that its uncapped Indian fast bowler Mayank Yadav is consistently bowling at a speed of 150 kmph. He bowled the fastest ball of this season of IPL in his debut match against Punjab Kings and impressed everyone with his performance. In front of RCB batsmen, once again all eyes will be on Mayank Yadav.

Let us know what the possible playing 11 of both the teams can be for this match...

RCB: Faf du Plessis (captain), Virat Kohli, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik, Reece Topley, Mayank Dagar, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal.

Lucknow Supergiants: KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Devdutt Padikkal, Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran (captain), Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Naveen Ul Haq, Mohsin Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav.
