Posted on 29th Dec 2020 03:20 pm by rohit kumar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the New Bhaupur-New Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) through video conferencing. The advantage will be that trains will not be late on the Kanpur-Delhi route. Freight trains will also be able to arrive on time. Modi also started the Operational Control Center.

Modi said that this day is going to give a new height of the 21st century to the glorious past of Indian Railways. We are seeing the largest and modern railway project come down on the ground. This will also benefit the farmers.

5 important things of Modi's speech

1. Important for the growth of infrastructure

Modi said that technology related to management and data in the new freight corridor has been prepared in India itself. Infrastructure growth is the largest source of any country. The stronger it is, the faster the development of the nation. In the last six years, every aspect of modern connectivity has been working in India. Highway be, railway be and waterway and Iway. These five wheels are being given speed.

2. Farmers will also benefit from the new corridor

This corridor will triple the speed of goods trains. Double cargo can be carried. Double-decker freight trains can be run on these tracks. This will increase business, increase investment, create new employment opportunities. Be it a businessman, farmer, or consumer, everyone will get the benefit.

3. Project was stuck due to previous government

The project was approved in 2006. After this, it remained in the papers and files only. The agency that the Center had to communicate with the states did not happen. The result was work that got stuck, hanged, went astray. Money was also approved for this, that too was not spent properly. Its budget increased 11 times in 2014. I spoke to the stakeholders, reviewed them and the Center inspired the State Governments.

4. Infrastructure is not a party's ideology, but a guide to development

Investments were not made on the tracks on which the train was to run. She was not serious about the rail network. Now India is manufacturing modern trains for itself and is also exporting. The infrastructure of the country is the guide to the development of the country, not the ideology of any party. If political parties have to compete, then it should be of quality, speed, and scale.

5. The wealth of the country is not the property of any party

I want to describe another mindset. Demonstrations in the country damage property of the country. It is not the property of any party. Money has been spent on the poor and common people of this country. Therefore, we should not forget the national obligation. The railway that is targeted, how the country works in difficult times is shown in the Corona period.

What is EDFC?

The Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor ie EDFC is one of Prime Minister Modi's ambitious plans. It is specially designed for freight trains. Meaning only goods trains will run on it. This 351 km long corridor is up to the New Bhaupur-New Khurja section. It has been prepared for Rs 5,750 crore. Its total length is 1856 km. It will start from Ludhiana in Punjab and pass through Haryana, UP, Bihar, and Jharkhand to Dankuni in West Bengal.

Along with this, the central government is also constructing a 1504 km long Western Corridor. It is starting from Dadri in Greater Noida to Mumbai to Jawaharlal Nehru Port. In the coming days, the central government has decided to lay separate tracks for goods carrier trains across the country.

What will be the benefit out of this?

Kanpur, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Fatehpur, Etawah, Firozabad, Farrukhabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and adjoining industries will prove beneficial.

The pressure on the normal rail line will reduce and the number of passenger trains will be increased.

The latency of passenger trains will be less.

Grain and other goods will be able to be delivered to the destination on time.

Control Center in Prayagraj

Prayagraj's operations control center will function as a command center for the entire EDFC. This center is one of the largest such structures worldwide. Modern interiors have been used in this. This building is eco friendly.
