Aftab Amin Poonawalla, accused of murdering his live-in partner Shraddha Walker, currently lodged in Tihar Jail, today joined the proceedings in Saket court through video conferencing. Delhi's Saket court extended the judicial custody of accused Aftab Poonawalla by 14 days. The Delhi Police sought an extension of judicial custody and said the investigation was underway.
Let us tell you that the police arrested the accused Poonawala on November 12, after which he was sent to police custody for five days. The police custody was extended by five days on 17 November. On November 22, the court again sent accused Aftab Poonawalla to police custody for four days and then on November 26, sent him to jail for 13 days of judicial custody.
Aftab Amin Poonawalla (28), an accused in the Shraddha murder case, has given an open challenge to the Mehrauli police that I have killed Shraddha, if you have the guts, show them by recovering the body parts and tools. He is repeating this challenge again and again. South district police officers are also in a fix regarding this challenge of the accused. The police are surprised to see his confidence.
A senior officer of Delhi Police said on the condition of anonymity that when Mehrauli police caught the accused, Aftab had said that I had killed Shraddha. If you have guts, recover the pieces of the body and show them. He is repeating this challenge continuously now. The police are yet to recover Shraddha's head and torso.
The jaw recovered from the forest of Chhatarpur and the body piece recovered from a 100-foot road shows that it is the body of a woman. The police are yet to recover the tools used to recover the dismembered body. However, the police recovered five knives from the kitchen. These were used by the accused to dismember Shraddha's body.
Chatting with a friend pretending to be Shraddha
Aftab kept using Shraddha's mobile for about a month. However, he did not call but had WhatsApp chatting. Once Shraddha's friend Laxman had put a WhatsApp message on the mobile, then the accused posing as Shraddha had told Laxman that she is busy now, and will talk.
Later he messaged Laxman that Shraddha had left him. After this, he took Shraddha's mobile and SIM to Mumbai and threw them into the sea. At that time he had gone to shift the goods from the rented house in Mumbai. The police have not yet received Shraddha's mobile and SIM.
