Statue of Sachin Tendulkar will be installed at Wankhede Stadium: It will be unveiled during the ODI World Cup in November, on this ground Tendulkar played the last international match

Mumbai Cricket Association has taken a big decision. The association is going to install a statue of Sachin Tendulkar at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Sachin is going to be 50 years old on 24th April. Also, in November this year, it will be 10 years since he retired. In November 2013, Sachin played his last international match against the West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium.

MCA is celebrating the master blaster's golden jubilee year at Wankhede, and the statue is a part of the celebrations. According to media reports, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) statue will be unveiled during the 2023 ICC World Cup. It will be installed on the platform outside the MCA lounge.

Sachin agreed

According to Indian Express, MCA President Amol Kale said that for the first time, a statue will be installed at Wankhede Stadium. The statue will serve as a reminder of Sachin's contribution to cricket. He is Bharat Ratna. I spoke to him three weeks back and got his consent.

On getting the statue, Sachin Tendulkar said, I am very happy. It all started at Wankhede in 1998. This is where I played my first Ranji match. It was here that coach Achrekar sir reprimanded me before I became a professional player and since then I became a serious cricketer. This is a very special place for me, I have very special memories attached to this place. It is a big deal for me to have my statue at the Wankhede Stadium.

India won the ODI World Cup at Wankhede Stadium itself.

The final of the 2011 ODI World Cup was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Here India had broken many myths by defeating Sri Lanka. India became the first host team to win the World Cup. Earlier, no team had won the World Cup on its land. With this, Sachin Tendulkar's dream of winning the World Cup was fulfilled.

The Statue of a cricketer will be installed for the second time in India

Sachin will be the second cricketer from India to have a statue. So far only the statue of former Indian captain Colonel CK Naidu has been installed at three different places. In this, they include Holkar Stadium in Indore, Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur, and VCDA Stadium in Andhra.

There is a wall named after Rahul Dravid in Bangalore.

There is also a wall outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore in the name of former India batsman Rahul Dravid, on which three words Commitment, Class, and Consistency are written. These three words perfectly describe the personality of Rahul Dravid.
