Waqf Row: 'Is Rahul Uncomfortable with poor Muslims Getting a Voice?', BJP hits back amid the uproar over the new Waqf law

Posted on 10th Apr 2025 11:24 am by rohit kumar

The uproar over the new Waqf law is increasing across the country. The politics of allegations and counter-allegations is also at its peak. The reason is that whether it is the opposition or many other Muslim leagues, they are strongly opposing the new Waqf law. Meanwhile, now the BJP has asked sharp questions to Congress and Rahul Gandhi for opposing this law. On Wednesday, the BJP asked Rahul Gandhi whether he is uncomfortable with the amended Waqf Act, in which women have also been given a voice along with the poor and backward Muslims.

Let us tell you that after the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, President Draupadi Murmu also signed the amendment on Sunday, after which it became a law and on Tuesday the Central Government has implemented the Waqf Law by issuing a notification. Protests have intensified across the country regarding this.

BJP's counterattack on Rahul

BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad counterattacked Rahul on his unconstitutional comment on the new Waqf law. He said that Rahul did not say anything on this during the debate and now his stand is not clear. Also, Prasad asked Rahul Gandhi three questions - is it right that hospitals, schools, or orphanages have been opened for the poor and women on Waqf properties? Does Gandhi have any problem with the development of Pasmanda Muslims?

Rahul had commented on the Waqf law.

It is worth noting that earlier, Rahul Gandhi had said that the Waqf Amendment Act is anti-constitutional and it is an attack on the freedom of religion. He warned the BJP and the Sangh to attack the rights of other minorities. Gandhi also said that an economic storm is about to come and accused Prime Minister Modi of bowing to the pressure of US President Donald Trump.

BJP answered Rahul's tariff question

Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad targeted Rahul Gandhi and also responded to his tariff allegation. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the Government of India does not bow down to any pressure and talks are going on in this matter. Prasad also accused Rahul Gandhi of double standards and hypocrisy on the issue of OBC empowerment. He said that the Congress did very little for the OBC community during its rule, while the BJP has given many OBC leaders the posts of Chief Minister, Minister, and senior posts in the organization.

Prasad made serious allegations against Congress.

Prasad also accused the Congress of usurping the legacy of Sardar Patel and said that if a member of the Gandhi family had been the Prime Minister at that time, Patel would not have received the Bharat Ratna. He also said that the Modi government made Dalits and tribals the President and honored many unknown freedom fighters.
