How It Used To Be

I saw her during recess

And then again at lunch

I kinda liked to tease her

I'd always dodge her punch

I said I didn't like her

But it wasn't true

I liked to be around her

Without her I was blue

Then at lunch, we'd sit together

With our lunches made

From our caring mothers

Damn I miss first grade

to watch love

walk in your direction

when you be

As I lay here in the dark by your side,

It is a word

It has no substance

I'm resting here quite regally,

The feature of the table.

Surrounded by potatoes
