Covid-19 in China: Corona threat again in China! Migrants returning home on Lunar New Year will increase their difficulties

The risk of corona in China may increase further. Lakhs of workers are returning to their homes to celebrate Lunar New Year. By Friday, their number may increase further. There is a fear of more spread of corona infection in the cities and villages of China.

A crowd of people at railway stations, airport

Significantly, the Chinese government relaxed the zero covid policy last year, after which a record increase in corona cases was seen. Now a huge crowd of people is being seen at railway stations and airports. Due to this, the cases of corona may increase further.

GDP figures confirming recession

Meanwhile, new GDP figures have been presented on Tuesday. Due to this, there is a possibility of a sharp economic slowdown in China. Economists and analysts are eyeing the holiday season, known as the Spring Festival. It is showing a glimpse of the boom in consumption in the world's second-largest economy.

Analysts expect a slow recovery

Some analysts expect the recovery in China to be slow. But China's Vice-Premier Liu He announced at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland on Tuesday that China was open to the world after three years of pandemic isolation. According to state media reports, officials of the National Immigration Administration said that since the opening of China's borders on January 8, an average of half a million people have been traveling to and from China every day.

Fear of spreading corona from megacities to small towns and villages

Officials say the virus has peaked in megacities such as Shanghai. A large number of workers are coming from here to smaller cities and towns. There the elderly have not yet been vaccinated and have not been exposed to COVID. Also the health care system there is not good. Therefore, the situation there can be worrying.
