Lok Sabha Election 2024: Infighting in SP, situation worsens on Azam's seat; Akhilesh can play big gamble to convince

Talks between Azam Khan and Akhilesh Yadav seem to be deteriorating after Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav did not contest the elections from Rampur Lok Sabha seat. Azam Khan is angry that Akhilesh Yadav is not contesting from Rampur despite his request.

Frustrated Azam Khan has announced an election boycott. Regarding this, the SP District President of Rampur Ajay Sagar has also issued a written statement to the media on behalf of Azam. In Bijnor also, SP has changed its candidate.

Azam has written in the letter that for us elections have always been a means of improving the future of the poor, laborers, youth, and the coming generations. Gross injustice was done to the people of Rampur. The whole world knows very well what happened in the last two by-elections.

Due to such special circumstances, we had requested National President Akhilesh Yadav to contest from Rampur in the current Lok Sabha elections. Our view was that to change the current environment of Rampur, Akhilesh Yadav must come to contest the Rampur elections.

Azam says that if the same officer is living in the same district and division against the rules of the Election Commission and the aim is only to lose the elections, then the circumstances can be understood very well. In such a situation, we boycott the current elections. Only the National President will decide the current elections of Rampur.

Preparation to scare voters: Ajay Sagar

On the other hand, SP District President Ajay Sagar said that at the district level, SP has boycotted the elections from the Rampur seat. In this election also, like in the previous elections, there are preparations to scare the voters. Whatever decision SP National President Akhilesh Yadav takes for the Rampur seat will be accepted by everyone.

Discussion on cancellation of ticket of Dr. ST Hasan

SP declared its MP from Moradabad Dr. ST Hasan as its candidate on Tuesday. He has also filed a nomination on the SP symbol. It is said that Azam Khan is angry with Dr. Hasan these days, hence at the last moment the SP leadership cut off the ticket of Dr. Hasan and gave the symbol to former Bijnor MLA Ruchiveera. Ruchiveera's husband Udayan Veera has also been the District Panchayat President.

Ruchiveera told Amar Ujala that the party has given her the symbol and she will file her nomination on Wednesday. He also informed that it has been written on the relevant format of the symbol that the ticket of the previously declared candidate ST Hasan has been changed and given to him so that the election symbol of the authorized candidate of SP can be allotted to him by the Commission. Sources close to Akhilesh have also confirmed the cancellation of ST Hasan's ticket from Moradabad. However, no official statement was issued by SP.

Ticket changed in Bijnor also

SP has canceled the ticket of former MP Yashveer Singh in Bijnor and declared Deepak Saini as its candidate. Deepak Saini is the son of SP MLA from Noorpur, Ram Avtar Saini.

Lalu Yadav's son-in-law Tej Pratap will contest from Rampur.

Akhilesh did not accept Azam Khan's offer to contest elections from Rampur but has given the green signal to make his nephew and son-in-law of former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap Singh, a candidate. However, SP has not officially issued any statement in this regard. March 27 is the last date for filing nominations. Tej Pratap was also been MP from Mainpuri in 2014.
