Rohit has a chance to leave Dhoni behind

Rohit is currently on par with Dhoni in terms of hitting most sixes in home ODIs for India. Both these players have hit 116 sixes while playing ODI matches in India. If Rohit hits another six in the match against West Indies, he will become the batsman with the most number of sixes in ODIs on Indian soil. Rohit has already left behind Sachin Yuvraj and Ganguly in this matter. On the other hand, Virat can leave Sourav Ganguly behind in this matter. Both of them have hit 57 sixes so far.

However, after getting fit, the 34-year-old Rohit made a tremendous comeback and scored 60 runs in 51 balls in the first ODI against West Indies. It included 10 fours and a six. India won the first ODI by six wickets. Now in the second ODI, Rohit has a chance to complete 250 sixes. He has hit 245 sixes in 221 innings of 228 ODI matches so far.

 

Afridi holds the record for most sixes

Shahid Afridi of Pakistan holds the record for hitting the most number of sixes in ODIs. He hit 351 sixes in 369 innings of 398 matches. At the same time, Chris Gayle of West Indies is at number two. He has hit 331 sixes in 294 innings of 301 ODIs. Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka is at number three. This veteran opener hit 270 sixes in 433 innings of 445 matches. Rohit is just 25 sixes away from Jayasuriya's record.

 

Dhoni hit 229 sixes in their ODI career

Rohit is at number four. At the same time, former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is at number five with 229 sixes in 297 innings of 350 ODIs. Dhoni and Jayasuriya have retired. At the same time, Chris Gayle has been away from international cricket for a long time. Apart from Rohit and Dhoni, there are two more Indian players in the top-10 most sixes in ODIs. It also includes Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. Tendulkar (at number 9) hit 195 sixes and Ganguly (at number 10) hit 190 sixes.

 

Gayle has the most number of sixes in all three formats.

Rohit can also leave Azharuddin behind

Apart from this, Rohit can also leave behind former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin in terms of scoring runs in ODIs. Azharuddin scored 9378 runs in 308 innings of 334 matches in ODIs at an average of 36.9. Azharuddin scored seven centuries and 58 half-centuries during this period.

 

At the same time, Rohit has scored 9265 runs in 228 matches for the Indian team at an average of 49. If he scores 114 runs in Wednesday's match, then he will leave Azharuddin behind in the matter of scoring the most runs in ODIs. At the same time, he will reach number six in terms of scoring the most runs in ODIs.
