Titan Company, part of the Tata Group, reported a sharp increase in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q2 FY27), supported by resilient consumer demand and growth across its major business segments. The company also announced that Noel N. Tata will retire as Vice-Chairman and Director with effect from November 12, 2026.

For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, Titan posted a net profit of ₹2,393 crore, compared with ₹1,120 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. This represents an increase of approximately 114% year-on-year.

The reported profit, however, includes a one-time accounting gain of ₹671 crore arising from the revaluation of a financial liability. Excluding this gain, Titan's net profit stood at ₹1,722 crore, registering an underlying annual increase of around 54%.

Titan Q2 revenue rises 23.5% year-on-year.

Titan's revenue from operations increased 23.5% year-on-year to ₹20,337 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹16,461 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year. The company's total income was reported separately at ₹21,430 crore.

On a sequential basis, consolidated net profit rose from ₹1,777 crore in Q1 FY27 to ₹2,393 crore in Q2, an increase of approximately 34.7%.

The company's earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) also recorded strong growth, reflecting improved performance across its business portfolio.

Jewellery business supports Titan's performance.

Titan's jewellery portfolio remained a key contributor to its quarterly performance. The portfolio, which includes brands such as Tanishq, Mia, Zoya and CaratLane, recorded income of ₹17,495 crore, an increase of 24% year-on-year.

Demand for design-led and studded jewellery supported the segment's performance. The company has also highlighted customer interest in premium and diamond-studded products, which helped improve its product mix.

Titan's management said that consumer demand remained healthy despite a shift in the festive calendar. Design-focused collections and promotional campaigns helped attract customers during the quarter.

Watches and eyewear businesses report growth.

Titan's watches business, which includes brands such as Titan and Fastrack, recorded income of ₹1,881 crore in Q2 FY27, up 27% year-on-year. Growth was supported by demand for analogue watches, premium products and design-led collections.

The EyeCare business also continued to expand. Its income rose 28% year-on-year to ₹281 crore, supported by continued premiumisation and demand for higher-value products.

Noel Tata to retire from Titan board on November 12

In a separate announcement, Titan said Noel N. Tata will retire from his positions as Vice-Chairman and Director with effect from November 12, 2026, in accordance with Tata Group governance guidelines.

Noel Tata has been associated with Titan since August 2003. The company's Board acknowledged his contribution during his association with the business.

The leadership-related announcement came alongside Titan's Q2 FY27 financial results, which showed strong reported profit growth and continued expansion across its jewellery, watches and eyewear businesses.

What Titan's Q2 results indicate

Titan's September-quarter performance reflects strong reported earnings growth and continued demand for jewellery and premium products. However, the one-time accounting gain is an important factor when assessing the increase in net profit. Excluding that gain, the company's profit still grew by around 54% year-on-year.

Investors will also be watching how the company manages demand, gold-price movements, and the festive-season sales cycle in the coming quarters.
