Rahul Meena, the accused in the rape and subsequent murder of an IRS officer’s daughter in Delhi, had committed another rape against a 35-year-old female neighbor in his home district of Alwar just eight hours prior to the Delhi incident. In Alwar, the accused was accompanied by a friend who was also involved in the crime. Consequently, there is growing speculation that Rahul may be a psychopath.
Mental Health Assessment to be Conducted
The manner in which Rahul executed the crime in Amar Colony—after traveling a distance of 190 kilometers from Alwar to Delhi—is truly disturbing. The police are investigating the possibility that, in addition to being a habitual offender, he may also be suffering from a psychological disorder. To this end, authorities are considering having his mental state examined by a psychologist.
Rahul’s Behavior Puzzles the Police
However, the police remain perplexed by a specific question: why did he commit a rape against a female neighbor in Alwar—located 190 kilometers away from Delhi—just hours before carrying out the crime in the capital? This particular anomaly is precisely why the police suspect that he may be suffering from a mental illness.
Addicted to Intoxicants and Video Games
Preliminary investigations by the police have revealed that Rahul was addicted to consuming intoxicants and playing video games. Due to these addictions, he would borrow money from security guards and people in the vicinity, falsely claiming to be doing so on behalf of the IRS officer. He was dismissed from his job only after complaints regarding this behavior were received. It was within this same timeframe—shortly after his dismissal—that he committed the crime.
Did Rahul Meena Rape a Friend’s Wife in Alwar?
The police stated that following the gruesome crime in Delhi, a thorough review of the accused Rahul Meena’s criminal record revealed that, on the night of April 21 at approximately 11:00 PM, he had broken into the home of a married woman within the Rajgarh police station jurisdiction in Alwar and raped her. In her formal complaint to the police, the victim from Alwar recounted that Rahul Meena had taken her husband to a wedding ceremony on his motorcycle.
The husband remained at the venue, while the accused returned to the house, broke in, and raped her. When her husband returned home later, his wife confided in him and narrated the harrowing ordeal. The Girl Was Fully Confident of Clearing the UPSC Exam According to neighbors, the deceased was a bright student.
She was absolutely convinced that she would successfully pass the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination. She was not one to spend much time roaming outdoors or staying out late at night; rather, she was well-liked by everyone for her disciplined nature. A neighbor of the victim mentioned that she also stayed away from social media.

She was an extremely studious young woman who was constantly immersed in her studies, and her dream was to become a civil servant. We never saw her wasting her time, and she rarely ever stepped out of the house. The deceased had completed her engineering studies and was subsequently preparing for the UPSC examination.
