Lok Sabha Election 2024: These ministers of the central government are in the fray in the seventh phase; Know who is challenging where?

The process of voting for the six phases of the Lok Sabha elections has been completed. Today the seventh phase of voting is being conducted. In this phase, voting is being held on 57 seats of eight states and union territories. With this, voting will be completed on all 543 seats. A total of 904 candidates are trying their luck on 57 seats in this phase. The seats on which voting is going include the seats of Union Ministers like Anurag Thakur, and Anupriya Patel, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

Narendra Modi: Varanasi Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh is the most talked about seat of this election. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the BJP candidate from here for the third time. Congress has once again fielded its state president Ajay Rai in the electoral fray. At the same time, BSP has made Athar Jamal Lari its face. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi contested from BJP. Congress fielded Ajay Rai against him and SP fielded Shalini Yadav. The results were in favor of BJP and here the Prime Minister defeated SP's Shalini Yadav by a huge margin of 4,79,505 votes. In this election, Narendra Modi got 6,74,664 votes, SP candidate Shalini got 1,95,159 and Congress' Ajay Rai got 1,52,548 votes. In the last election, a total of 57.13% people voted in Varanasi.

 

Anurag Thakur: Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat is also special. Union Minister Anurag Thakur is trying his luck for the fifth time from here. He is currently the Minister of Sports, Youth Affairs, and Information and Broadcasting in the Modi government. Anurag Thakur is the son of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. In this election, Congress has fielded former MLA Satpal Raizada against him. At the same time, BSP has fielded Hemraj as its candidate. In 2019, BJP's Anurag Thakur was successful in the Hamirpur seat. In the last election, 72.83% of people exercised their franchise here.

 

RK Singh: In this Lok Sabha election, there are many such seats from where former bureaucrats are contesting. Ara is also one such seat in Bihar which has 40 seats. Former IAS officer RK Singh is contesting from Ara's seat for the third consecutive time. Currently, RK Singh is the Energy Minister in the Modi government at the Center. In this election, RK Singh is pitted against Sudama Prasad from CPI-ML. CPI-ML is part of the grand alliance in the state. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's RK Singh won the Ara Lok Sabha seat. In the last election, 51.81% of people exercised their franchise here.

 

Anupriya Patel: The Mirzapur seat of Uttar Pradesh was also in the headlines in the last moments of the election. Anupriya Patel of Apna Dal is once again in the fray from here. She is currently holding the post of Minister of State for Commerce and Industry in the Central Government. SP has fielded Dr. Ramesh Chand Bind against Anupriya. Bind was the BJP MP from Bhadohi's seat last time, but this time he changed sides after his ticket was cut. Ramesh Chand Bind came from BJP to SP a few days before the elections and he also got the ticket. Apart from this, BSP has fielded Manish Kumar against Anupriya Patel. In the contest here, a war of words was also seen between Union Minister Anupriya Patel and Kunda MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya. Meanwhile, in Mirzapur, Raja Bhaiya's party Jansatta Dal Loktantrik extended its support to the Samajwadi Party candidate. In 2019, Anupriya Patel of Apna Dal won in Mirzapur. In the last election, 60.11% of voting was recorded here.

 

Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey: In this election, the Chandauli seat of Uttar Pradesh is also in the news. Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey from here. He is currently the Union Heavy Industries Minister. Virendra Singh is in the fray from SP. Apart from this, BSP has expressed confidence in Satyendra Kumar Maurya. In 2019, Mahendra Nath Pandey of BJP won the Chandauli seat. In the last election, 61.83% of voting was recorded here.

 

Pankaj Chaudhary: Pankaj Chaudhary is also among the Union Ministers contesting in the seventh phase. Pankaj is the BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from the Maharajganj seat of Uttar Pradesh. Chaudhary is handling the responsibility of Minister of State for Finance in the Modi government. Congress has fielded Virendra Chaudhary and BSP has fielded Mohammad Mausame Alam from here. In 2019, BJP's Pankaj Chaudhary was successful in the Maharajganj seat. In the last election, 64.07% of people exercised their franchise here.
