PM Modi's First US state visit
This will be the first US state visit by Prime Minister Modi. However, he has visited the US five times earlier in his tenure. This will be his sixth US visit.

Before PM Modi, only two Indian leaders have gone on a state visit to America. Before him, former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in 1963 and former PM Manmohan Singh in 2009 had gone on a state visit to the US.

Apart from PM Modi and former PM Manmohan Singh, eight Indian prime ministers have visited the US. Jawaharlal Nehru four times, Atal Bihari Vajpayee four times, Indira Gandhi three times, Rajiv Gandhi three times, PV Narasimha Rao twice, Morarji Desai and IK Gujral once each have visited America.

Joe Biden is the third US President who will meet PM Modi during his visit to America. Before him, Barack Obama and Donald Trump met PM Modi during their US visit.
The record of addressing the joint session of the US Congress for the second time will be added to the name of PM Modi. He addressed the US Congress for the first time in June 2016. PM Modi is the only Indian leader to do so and will be the fourth such leader in the world.
This is happening for the first time when the main function of Yoga Day is being organized abroad and it will be led by PM Modi. Yoga Day celebrations will be held on June 21 on the lawns of the United Nations Headquarters.
