
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has termed the new draft guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a conspiracy to end the reservation given to SC, ST, and OBC categories in higher educational institutions. Congress on Sunday demanded the withdrawal of this new draft guideline of UGC in which it has been proposed that any vacant post reserved for SC, ST, and OBC can be declared unreserved if sufficient candidates are not found from these categories. are not available.

Rahul Gandhi said in a post in Hindi on X, 'In the new draft of UGC, there is a conspiracy to end the reservation given to SC, ST and OBC categories in higher educational institutions. Today, out of approximately 7,000 reserved posts in 45 central universities, 3,000 are vacant and only 7.1 percent are Dalit, 1.6 percent are tribal, and 4.5 percent are backward class professors. BJP-RSS now wants to snatch away the jobs from the deprived class in such higher educational institutions. This is an attempt to kill the dreams of the heroes fighting for social justice and eliminate the participation of the deprived sections. This is the difference between symbolic politics and real justice and this is the character of BJP.
'Congress will never let this happen. We will continue to fight for social justice and will get recruitment for these vacant posts only from qualified candidates from reserved categories.
