Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has termed the new draft guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a conspiracy to end the reservation given to SC, ST, and OBC categories in higher educational institutions. The party has demanded the dismissal of UGC Chairman M. Jagadish Kumar in this matter.
Congress on Sunday demanded the withdrawal of this new draft guideline of UGC in which it has been proposed that any vacant post reserved for SC, ST, and OBC can be declared unreserved if sufficient candidates are not found from these categories. are not available.
Rahul Gandhi said this on X
Rahul Gandhi said in a post in Hindi on X, 'In the new draft of UGC, there is a conspiracy to end the reservation given to SC, ST and OBC categories in higher educational institutions. Today, out of approximately 7,000 reserved posts in 45 central universities, 3,000 are vacant and only 7.1 percent are Dalit, 1.6 percent are tribal, and 4.5 percent are backward class professors. BJP-RSS now wants to snatch away the jobs from the deprived class in such higher educational institutions. This is an attempt to kill the dreams of the heroes fighting for social justice and eliminate the participation of the deprived sections. This is the difference between symbolic politics and real justice and this is the character of BJP.
'Congress will never let this happen. We will continue to fight for social justice and will get recruitment for these vacant posts only from qualified candidates from reserved categories.
Udit Raj said this
SC department head of Congress Rajesh Lilothia and President of Unorganized Workers and Employees Congress Udit Raj said, that after Congress protested against this anti-people step, UGC was forced to state that no such decision has been taken.
Udit Raj said, 'It should not be forgotten that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has expressed his anti-reservation mentality in the past. After the arrival of the Modi government, reservations in educational institutions are being weakened. UGC's move confirms our apprehensions on Mohan Bhagwat and RSS. Since 2014, most of the appointments in educational institutions have been made from RSS backgrounds.
