Sunrisers Hyderabad kept their hopes of reaching the playoffs alive by defeating Rajasthan Royals by four wickets. In the 52nd match of IPL 2023, Rajasthan scored 214 runs batting first after winning the toss at their home ground. In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 217 runs in the last ball with the help of Abdul Samad's six and won the match by four wickets. With this victory, Hyderabad has eight points in 10 matches and this team remains in the playoff race. At the same time, the Rajasthan team is in fourth place with 10 points in 11 matches and is looking for trouble.

 

The Rajasthan team, which won four out of the first five matches, has lost five out of the next six matches. This team has faced defeat in the last three matches.

Sandeep's no-ball defeated Rajasthan

In this match, Hyderabad needed five runs in the last ball to win and Abdul Samad was caught out by Sandeep Sharma. Rajasthan's team had won the match by four runs, but then the hooter of no ball was played and the match was overturned. Samad remained at the crease and now Hyderabad needed four runs in the last ball to win. In such a situation, Samad made his team win by hitting a six, and the Rajasthan team won and lost the game. Stormy start of Rajasthan

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals got off to a great start. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored at a brisk pace while Buttler took his time at the other end. Due to the stormy batting of Jaiswal, Rajasthan crossed the 50-run mark inside the powerplay. However, Jaiswal got out after scoring 35 runs in 18 balls.

 

After the departure of Jaiswal, Jos Buttler changed gears and scored runs in a stormy manner with Sanju Samson. Both took Rajasthan's score beyond 100 runs within 10 overs. After this, Butler completed his half-century in 32 balls and shared a century partnership with Sanju to take Rajasthan's score beyond 150 runs in the 15th over. After this Sanju Samson completed his half-century in 33 balls. In the 19th over of the innings, Buttler was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and missed out on his sixth IPL century. Butler scored 95 runs in 59 balls. He hit 10 fours and four sixes in his innings and shared a 138-run partnership with Samson for the second wicket.

 

In the end, Sanju Samson scored runs in a stormy fashion to take Rajasthan's score to 214 for two. He scored an unbeaten 66 off 38 balls. His innings included five sixes and four fours. At the same time, Marco Jansen and Bhuvneshwar Kumar could take one wicket each for Hyderabad.

 

Good start for Hyderabad

Chasing a mammoth target of 215, Hyderabad got off to a good start. The opening pair of Anmolpreet Singh and Abhishek Sharma scored at a brisk pace and inside the powerplay, Hyderabad's score crossed 50 runs without loss. However, Anmolpreet Singh became the victim of Chahal after scoring 33 runs in 25 balls. At this time the team's score was 51 runs. After this, Abhishek along with Rahul Tripathi took Hyderabad's score beyond 100 runs. Hyderabad's run rate slowed down at this time, but later both the batsmen brought their team back into the match by scoring fast runs.

 

Chahal's superb bowling

Sunrisers Hyderabad's second wicket fell on the score of 116 runs. Abhishek Sharma got out after scoring 55 runs in 34 balls. After this, Rahul Tripathi and Heinrich Klaasen scored fast and took Hyderabad's score to 150 runs for two wickets. Chahal made Klaasen his second victim. Klaasen was dismissed after scoring 26 runs in 12 balls. After him, Rahul Tripathi also became the third victim of Chahal by scoring 47 runs in 29 balls. In the same over, Chahal made Aiden Markram his fourth victim and also became the highest wicket-taker in the IPL. Due to the excellent bowling of Chahal, the Rajasthan team had gone far ahead in the match.

 

Philips reversed the match

Hyderabad needed 41 runs in the last two overs to win. In such a situation, Glenn Phillips scored 22 runs in one over of Kuldeep Yadav with the help of three sixes and a four and the Hyderabad team again came into the match. However, Phillips was also dismissed in the same over. Hyderabad needed 17 runs in the last. Abdul Samad and Marco Jansen scored 12 runs in five balls and Hyderabad needed five runs from the last ball to win. Samad was caught out, but it turned out to be a no-ball and now Hyderabad needed four runs in the last ball. In such a situation, Samad gave victory to Hyderabad by hitting a six.
