Side Effects Of Lockdown: 1600 Engagement Marriages Postponed, Loss Of 1.25 Billion Rupees, Livelihood Of 3.5 Lakh People

The eclipse of the ongoing lockdown due to corona for the last 15 days has also been put on weddings in April-May. Only about 1600 marriages, tilaks, and engagement have been postponed in Lucknow alone. It is estimated that the business related to them is losing about one and a quarter billion due to postponement of marriages. The livelihood of about three and a half million people has been lost.

All the auspicious events in April are postponed, while about 90 percent of May weddings have been postponed. Surendra Sharma, president of the Hotel and Restaurant Association Lucknow, says that there are about 800 big and small hotels in Lucknow. Some are booked for weddings and some for small programs like Saagi, Tilak. Be it big hotels like Taj, Renaissance, Hyatt, Piccadilly, Clarke Awadh or hundreds of small hotels, the entire business is at a standstill.

Chancellor Club owner Jasminder Singh says that his club has postponed about 40 weddings in April-May. Now people are looking at the dates between November-December or January to March 2021. The problem is that there are already booked hotels, resorts, caterers, etc. on dates. So those who postpone weddings in April-May may have to wait.

Auspicious marriage dates will start from April 14

Marriage starts auspicious from April 14 after the end of Kharmas. Which will remain till Asha Shukla Paksha Dashami on Tuesday 30 June. After that, marriages will take place from Devothan Ekadashi on November 25 to December 11. Pandit Shakti Dhar Tripathi of Shakti Astrology Center told that auspicious marriages will be performed by chanting 28000 of the divine mantra of Shri Surya Dev. He informed that there are a total of dates in November-December this year. There is no auspicious date of marriage from January to half April in next year 2021 as Guru Venus is not rising together.
