The person who threatened to kill Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has been arrested from Ghaziabad by the Special Staff Team of Delhi Police. Police said that the accused had threatened by calling under the influence of alcohol.
He had switched off the phone after threatening.
Late Thursday night, an unknown caller called on Ghaziabad Kotwali's Dial 112 and threatened to kill Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. After which the caller switched off his mobile. Surveillance and two police teams were formed to catch the caller.
Who is Rekha Gupta?
Rekha Gupta is an MLA from Delhi's Shalimar Bagh assembly seat. She was also the General Secretary of Delhi BJP and National Vice President of BJP's Mahila Morcha. 50-year-old Rekha was born in 1974 in Nandgarh village located in Jind district of Haryana. Her father was an officer in the State Bank of India. In 1976, Rekha's family shifted to Delhi. Then she was just two years old. After this, Rekha's primary to higher education took place in Delhi.

Rekha Gupta hails from the Jind district of Haryana, but she came to Delhi at the age of just two years and has been living here since then. Her entire education has been done in Delhi. During her student life, she joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), and through this organization, she started actively contributing to politics. She served in various positions at Delhi University (DU). Her strong grip on student politics and organizational skills played an important role in her progress.
Rekha Gupta's education
Talking about the educational background of the Chief Minister of Delhi, she has a B.Com and LLB degree. She completed her B.Com from Daulat Ram College. Apart from this, she has studied law at Chaudhary Charan Singh University Meerut.
Rekha Gupta's political journey
Rekha Gupta started her political career from her student life. She started her political journey in 1992 through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. She has been an active member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and has a stronghold in organizational work. In the year 1996-97, she became the General Secretary of Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) and later also took over the responsibility of the post of President.
For two consecutive years between 2007-2009, she held the responsibility of the post of President of Women Welfare and Child Development Committee, MCD. Now, in the 2025 assembly elections, she has won from the Shalimar Bagh seat. Now she is currently the Chief Minister of Delhi.
