10th day of peasant movement: Discussion with farmers government continues; Government ready to remove objections, farmers are adamant on return of law

Today is the 10th and important day of farmers' protest against agricultural laws. Negotiations are continuing with the farmers' government. On behalf of the government, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for Commerce Som Prakash are in discussion with farmers. Before the meeting, farmers once again said that changes in agricultural laws will not work, the government should withdraw all three laws.

 

Before this, there were two major developments. Suddenly news came that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is discussing with his 4 ministers for the first time to convince the farmers. Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal were present at Modi's house for nearly 2 hours. Before attending this meeting, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh said, "We sincerely hope that the farmers will end the movement keeping a positive mind."

 

According to sources in the news agency, the government is also ready to give a written guarantee to the farmers to continue the minimum support price (MSP) and amend the provisions of the agricultural bills to which the farmers have objected. But, the farmers are adamant on the demand to withdraw all three laws.

 

The farmer said - today it will be just a matter of repealing the law

The farmers said before the meeting that the government was repeatedly giving dates. In such a situation, all the organizations have decided that today is the last day of talks. Kisan United Front chief Rampal Singh said that today they will come through a cross-border battle, there will not be a daily meeting. There will be nothing else in the meeting today, only to repeal the laws.

Because of the farmers' protests, the police have closed the Chilla border connecting Delhi to Noida. Instead, people have been advised to come to Delhi from DND.

 

The Ghazipur border on NH-24 is also closed. Kisan Mahapanchayat President Rampal Jat has said that if there is no positive solution in today's meeting of farmers and government, then farmers of Rajasthan will move towards Delhi via NH-8.

 

Bharat Bandh ultimatum on 8 December

Earlier on Friday, farmers said that if the three agricultural laws are not withdrawn, they will close India on December 8. The farmers have also warned to occupy all the toll plazas. After the farmers' meeting on Friday, their leader Harvinder Singh Lakhwal said - in the coming days will also block the remaining roads of Delhi. Farmers' organizations will also burn effigies of Modi today.

 

More than 170 farmers sick, not ready for corona test

More than 170 farmers agitating along the Tikri-Kundli border are suffering from fever and cough. Thousands of farmers are taking medicines in the camps here. Despite the appeal, farmers are not getting the corona test done. Maham MLA Balraj Kundu, who came to support the farmers, got Corona positive. Rakesh Bains, spokesperson of Haryana Bhakiyu, said that he is appealing to the farmers to get medicines done after checkup as soon as their health deteriorates. Those who have a fever should also undergo a corona test. About one thousand farmers have taken medicines.

Members of the Hoshiarpur District Kabbadi Association anchored almonds for the farmers involved in the movement. The association members said that they distributed one and a half quintals of almonds, cashew nuts, sogi, and walnuts among the farmers participating in the movement. Here, Singh was seen dancing and singing along with DJ on the tractor on the border last night. He says that there is no entertainment system because the music system has been installed on the tractor.

 

Foreign Ministry's warning does not affect Canada's PM

Center agrees on reforms, insists on withdrawal of farmers law

The fourth round of talks between the farmers and the Center on Thursday lasted for 7 hours. After that, it was clear that the movement would not stop. Darshanpal, the leader of the revolutionary farmers union, said - the Center agrees on some reforms in-laws, but not us. We have told them that there is a flaw in the whole law. So, they should be taken back.

 

Appeal in Supreme Court to remove farmers

On Friday, Petitioner petitioned that farmers should be directed to immediately withdraw from Delhi's borders, as the risk of corona may increase due to protesters. Petitioner's lawyer Om Prakash Parihar gave this information. However, the day of hearing on this application has not been set.

 

Award returns continue in support of farmers

The process of returning the award in support of farmers continued on Friday for the second day. Writer Dr. Mohanjeet, thinker Dr. Jaswinder, and journalist Swarajbir returned their Sahitya Academy Awards. On Thursday, former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal returned his Padma Vibhushan Award. Apart from him, Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa had announced to return the Padma Bhushan. The farmers say that the players will also return their awards on 7 December.
