Amazon vs Flipkart Sale 2026: Compare Discounts, Bank Offers and Cashback Before You Buy

Posted on 9th Oct 2026 02:13 pm by rohit kumar

The festive shopping season is here, and e-commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart are competing with discounts on smartphones, laptops, smart TVs, home appliances and wearables. But the lowest displayed price does not always mean the best deal. Shoppers can potentially save more by combining eligible bank offers, cashback, exchange bonuses and platform rewards.

Before placing an order during the Amazon Great Indian Festival or Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, it is worth comparing the final payable amount on both platforms. Here is what shoppers should know about the available offers and how to maximise savings.

Flipkart Big Billion Days 2026: Bank Discounts and Extra Savings

Flipkart's Big Billion Days sale opened for general customers on October 9, while eligible Plus, VIP and select co-branded credit card users received early access from October 8.

Flipkart lists instant discounts of up to 10% on eligible purchases made with Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards. The actual discount and maximum savings depend on the product, card type, transaction value and applicable terms.

Shoppers may also find additional benefits through SuperMoney, selected EMI transactions and Flipkart digital gift cards. The platform lists a 10% discount on the first eligible SuperMoney transaction and savings of up to 5% on digital gift cards purchased through UPI, subject to conditions.

These offers are not necessarily available on every product or stackable with every other promotion. Check the offer details on the product page and at checkout before paying.

Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026: SBI Card Offers and Cashback

Amazon's Great Indian Festival is also live, with discounts across smartphones, electronics, fashion, home appliances and other categories.

Amazon says eligible shoppers can receive a 10% instant discount using SBI credit and debit cards, including qualifying credit-card EMI transactions. The discount is subject to eligible products and the applicable offer terms.

Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card users can also earn cashback on eligible purchases. Amazon advertises unlimited 5% cashback for Prime members using this card, while cashback eligibility and benefits can differ for other customers and transactions.

Prime members may qualify for additional promotional savings on selected products. However, shoppers should compare these benefits against any instant discount available with another payment method. Cashback and instant discounts are different: one reduces the amount payable at checkout, while the other is credited according to the offer's rules.

Amazon vs Flipkart: Which Platform Has the Cheapest Deals?

There is no single winner across all products. The cheaper option depends on the product's sale price, payment method, available offers, exchange value and delivery conditions.

For an accurate comparison, follow these steps:

Compare the same product: Check the exact model, storage capacity, colour and seller on both platforms.

Apply the bank discount: Confirm the eligible card, minimum transaction value and maximum discount.

Check cashback separately: Read the cashback rate, exclusions and crediting conditions before counting it as a saving.

Review exchange offers: Compare the estimated exchange value and any additional exchange bonus.

Consider EMI costs: Check whether the transaction qualifies for no-cost EMI and whether other charges apply.

Compare the final price: Calculate the amount payable after instant discounts, then account for eligible cashback and exchange benefits separately.

For example, if a smartphone costs the same on both platforms, one may offer a larger instant bank discount while the other provides better cashback or exchange benefits. The best deal is the one with the lowest effective cost after considering the terms you can actually use.

Festive Sale Deals Can Change Quickly

Prices, bank offers and product availability can change during major shopping events. Some deals may be refreshed periodically, and popular products can sell out.

To avoid missing a suitable offer, add products to your wishlist, compare prices before checkout and read the terms for bank discounts, cashback, exchange bonuses and EMI plans. Do not rely on the advertised maximum discount alone: the benefit available on a particular product may be lower.

Ultimately, comparing the final payable amount on Amazon and Flipkart is the most reliable way to find the better festive deal.
