Congress President election became interesting
Shashi Tharoor will file nomination papers on September 30 at 11 am. The President of the Central Election Authority of the Congress, Madhusudan Mistry, was informed on behalf of his representative regarding the nomination of Shashi Tharoor. After the release of the notification for the election of Congress President, Shashi Tharoor was the first to talk about contesting the elections. Ashok Gehlot also joined the race after Rahul Gandhi's decision not to contest the election.
Is Gehlot still in the race?
After the rebellion of pro-Gehlot MLAs in Rajasthan Congress, the name of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was told out of the race for the post of president. However, Gehlot is not out of the race yet. Sources say that Gehlot will file a nomination for the presidential election only when consent is received from the Gandhi family. At the same time, Digvijay Singh is also being said to file a nomination for the Congress President's election.
According to the announced schedule for the election of the Congress President, the notification was issued on 22 September and the process of filing nomination papers started on 24, which will continue till 30 September. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 8. In case of more than one candidate, voting will be held on October 17 and results will be declared on October 19.
