Mumbai: Today, the Bombay High Court has given its verdict on the demolition of the Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika bungalow at Bandra Pali Hill. The Bombay High Court, while delivering the verdict, reprimanded the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Kangana Ranaut petitioned the Bombay High Court against the demolition of her bungalow and also demanded a compensation of two crore rupees for the loss.
The Bombay High Court said in its judgment that Kangana's statement of Mumbai as POK was wrong but such an irresponsible statement should be ignored by the administration and if action was to be taken then it should be done within the purview of the law. It is clear in this case that the action was malicious. This action took place after Kangana described Mumbai as PoK, it appears from the article printed in the newspaper and the statement of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.
Bombay High Court quashed BMC notice
Accepting Kangana's plea, the notice of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation was quashed by the Bombay High Court. The Bombay High Court said in its judgment that Kangana can do livable construction work in the petitioner's bungalow. You can reconstruct the office, but they must take necessary permission.
The court said during the order that it does not agree with the views expressed by Kangana but the state cannot take such action against a citizen. The petitioner (Kangana) should refrain from making his views on the public platform. The state should ignore the irresponsible statement uttered by a person.
"Kangana targeted for tweets and statements"
The High Court said the state cannot take malicious action against a person. Seeing the background of this case, it seems that the sabotage action taken in Kangana's office is malicious and thoughtful. Kangana has been targeted due to tweets and statements made by Kangana.
On the decision of the Bombay High Court, Kangana tweeted that the decision of the High Court is a victory for democracy. The court's decision is not my victory. Thank you to those who gave me courage.
Let me tell you, Kangana Ranaut had targeted Uddhav Thackeray Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena in the past. Apart from this, Mumbai was described as Pak Occupied Kashmir. After this, the Mumbai Metropolitan Municipality had given notice to Kangana Ranaut's bungalow, the construction work was illegal and after 24 hours of giving notice, a hammer was fired on the bungalow.
