India's victory celebrations against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy are continuing. Meanwhile, Congress leader questioned Rohit Sharma's weight as well as captaincy. After this, now the BJP leader has responded to this.

Yesterday during the Champions Trophy match between India and New Zealand, in a post on X, Congress spokesperson Shama Mohammed said on social media that Rohit Sharma is 'fat for a player'. She added, 'Needs to lose weight! And is the most disappointing captain India has ever had.'

'Congress should be ashamed'

The ruling BJP has also reacted sharply to this comment, asking whether the Congress now expects Rahul Gandhi to play cricket.

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari, in response to the Congress leader's post, said, 'Congress should be ashamed! Now they are after the Indian cricket captain! Do they expect Rahul Gandhi to play cricket now after failing in Indian politics?'

It is an insult to every patriot who...

Pradeep Bhandari further said,

The Congress spokesperson's comment reflects the party's emergency mentality. He said, 'It is an insult to every patriot who supports the Indian cricket team in every situation. I question the criticism of the Congress.'

After this, Mohammad Shama has clarified. He compared Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli and said that Virat Kohli always praises other cricketers. He said, 'I just spoke in a normal way. I failed to understand how we do not have the right to speak in a democracy.'

'90 elections have been lost under Rahul Gandhi's captaincy'

At the same time, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala also gave a befitting reply to the Congress, he said, 'Those who are questioning Rohit Sharma's captaincy are those who have lost 90 elections under Rahul Gandhi's captaincy. Under whose captaincy he got a duck six times in Delhi. Take care of your duck. Take care of your captain.'
