Ahead of the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu next year, actor-turned-politician Vijay Thalapathy has been embroiled in controversies. Recently, an FIR has been registered against Vijay and his security team for assault during a political rally. The incident took place on August 21 during the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) rally in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

What was the matter

Let us tell you that complainant Sharat Kumar has lodged a complaint with the Perambalur police regarding the assault incident during the TVK rally in Madurai. In his report, he said that during the rally, he was moving towards the stage to meet Vijay when Vijay's bouncers forcibly caught him and pushed him off the ramp. He has also said that he was assaulted during this time. The victim also alleged that the public was mistreated at Vijay's rally.

A video of the incident also surfaced

At the same time, news agency ANI has also shared a video of his rally on August 21. In this video, TVK chief Vijay can be seen walking on the ramp. During this, his supporters standing in large numbers on both sides of the ramp can also be seen waving their hands at Vijay in enthusiasm and raising slogans in his support. At the same time, at the beginning of this seven-minute-long video, Vijay's bouncers can be seen throwing a man down the ramp.

Case registered under these sections

In this case, Perambalur police have registered a case against Vijay and his security personnel. Police have registered a case under sections 189 (2), 296 (B), and 115 (I) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). These sections are related to illegal gathering, disturbing the peace, and inciting serious crime.

Assembly elections to be held next year

It is worth noting that assembly elections are to be held in Tamil Nadu next year. Before this election, actor-turned-politician Vijay was also trying to make his own identity in politics. Earlier this year, he formed his own political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK).
