The Vishwa Hindu Parishad appealed to the Supreme Court on Monday to take automatic cognizance of the adulteration of animal fat in Tirupati Laddus and start an investigation to identify the culprits. The demand was made by the apex court during the meeting of the VHP's Central Guide Board in Tirupati. VHP International Secretary Bajrang Bagra and other saints attended the meeting.

This request of the VHP has come given the recent claim made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in which he said that the previous YSRCP government did not spare Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple either and make Tirupati Laddoos famous for its unique taste. Use inferior material and animal fat.

Demand for strict punishment for the culprits

The VHP said in a release issued, "The Supreme Court should take automatic cognizance of the case and should investigate it in a certain period to identify the culprits of this unforgivable crime and punish them severely."

At the same time, the VHP said that there is no scope for negligence and delay in this matter because, in the event of this, a nationwide movement can be waged by Hindus. He is already in anger on this issue. According to the VHP, the episode has hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees of Shri Venkateswara Swamy worldwide, as Laddu Prasadam is considered as a divine blessing and consumed.

Subramanian Swamy filed a petition in the Supreme Court

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding an inquiry into the use of animal fat in making Laddu Prasad of Tirupati. He requested the apex court to direct the Andhra Pradesh government to file a detailed report on the source and sample of ghee used to make laddus. Swamy also posted on X about his petition. He said that the adulteration of animal fat in the offerings of Tirupati Tirumala temple has hurt the sentiments of devotees.

The former TTD president also reached the apex court, demanding for investigation from an independent committee

Former President of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding an independent committee under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the Supreme Court to investigate the allegations of animal fat in Ghee, making Tirupati Laddus. It states that the truth behind the allegations of adulteration needs to be ascertained. Since Naidu has alleged that there is animal fat in ghee, the agency working under them can say the same.
