Broken Like Me

I see a sea of faces,

many I have never met,

but yet I feel compassion for them.

On the outside, they look just like everybody else,

but they aren't;

they are broken.

 

They're broken for different reasons,

and in different ways they hide

the pain, the hurt, the story; they will never tell.

 

The source of the brokenness

is what they hide.

 

I see a sea of faces,

many I have never met.
