The amount spent was in crores because the intention was to bring Hera Pheri to the big screen for the audience after 20 years. But the film has suffered a huge loss due to Paresh's unprofessional behaviour.

It is further told that all the debts on the film were repaid by Cape of Good Films only when Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal agreed to do the third film of the franchise. The shooting of the film had also started, and the makers were shooting the announcement video. The actor was charging three times more than the market value.
