
Xiaomi has launched its latest mid-range smartphone, the Redmi Note 17, in India. The new handset comes with a massive 8,000mAh battery, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, and a 6.9-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Redmi Note 17 price in India starts at ₹27,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The smartphone will go on sale in India from August 12 through Xiaomi's official website, Amazon and authorised retail stores.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 17 in two configurations in India:
6GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹27,999
8GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹30,999
Customers purchasing the smartphone using eligible credit cards can receive an instant discount of up to ₹3,000.
The Redmi Note 17 will be available in three colour options: Arctic Blue, Starlight Purple and Dark Night.
Sales will begin on August 12 through Xiaomi's official website, Amazon and authorised retail outlets.
Redmi Note 17 Display and Design
The Redmi Note 17 gets a refreshed design with flat edges and a flat rear panel. A square-shaped camera module is placed on the back of the smartphone.
The handset carries an IP65 rating, offering protection against dust and water.
On the front, the smartphone features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits.
The display supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut, which is designed to deliver improved colour reproduction. The phone also features an in-display fingerprint sensor and a bottom-firing speaker.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 Processor and HyperOS 3
The Redmi Note 17 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, manufactured using a 4nm process. The processor is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
On the software front, the smartphone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Xiaomi has promised four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates. The handset also includes AI-powered features such as Circle to Search, allowing users to search for information directly from content displayed on the screen.
Redmi Note 17 Packs an 8,000mAh Battery
The biggest highlight of the Redmi Note 17 is its 8,000mAh battery, which is considerably larger than the batteries found in many smartphones in this segment.
The phone supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing it to charge other compatible devices.
Xiaomi claims that the battery can retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, which could help maintain battery performance over an extended period.
Redmi Note 17 Camera Specifications
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 features a 50-megapixel primary rear camera accompanied by an LED flash.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone has an 8-megapixel front camera.
Both the front and rear cameras support video recording at resolutions of up to 1080p.
