Motorola’s upcoming wide-format foldable smartphone, reportedly called the Moto Razr Flex, has appeared on Geekbench, offering a fresh look at its expected processor, memory and software. The listing identifies the device as the Motorola Razr Flex 27 and suggests that the company could be preparing a new rival to foldable smartphones from Samsung and Apple.
According to recent reports, the device could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, 12GB RAM and Android 17. Motorola has yet to officially confirm the phone’s final name, specifications, price or launch date.
Moto Razr Flex Processor and Geekbench Scores
The reported Geekbench listing identifies the upcoming foldable by the name Motorola Razr Flex 27. Its processor information points to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while the tested device reportedly includes 12GB RAM and runs Android 17.
In Geekbench 6 testing, the handset recorded:
Single-core score: 2,669
Multi-core score: 8,837
Reported RAM: 12GB
Operating system: Android 17
These benchmark results provide an early indication of the device’s performance. However, they come from a pre-release listing, and real-world performance may differ from benchmark results. The scores should also not be directly compared with results from different Geekbench versions.
Moto Razr Flex Display: Large OLED Screen Expected
The display could be one of the key attractions of Motorola’s rumoured wide-style foldable phone.
According to leaked specifications, the Moto Razr Flex may feature a 6.92-inch internal OLED display with a resolution of 1,728 × 2,364 pixels. The screen is also tipped to support HDR10+, Dolby Vision and an adaptive refresh rate, reportedly reaching up to 165Hz.
The phone could include a 4.97-inch OLED cover display with a reported resolution of 1,736 × 1,140 pixels. The outer screen may allow users to check notifications, access essential functions and complete certain tasks without opening the handset.
These display details remain unconfirmed by Motorola.
Moto Razr Flex Camera Specifications
For photography, the upcoming foldable is expected to feature a dual rear-camera setup.
The leaked camera specifications include:
50MP primary rear camera
50MP ultra-wide rear camera
32MP front camera for the internal display
32MP front camera for the cover display
The dual rear-camera arrangement could offer flexibility for everyday photography and wide-angle shots. However, current leaks do not indicate a dedicated telephoto camera, which could be a consideration for buyers who prioritise optical zoom.
Camera performance will ultimately depend on factors such as sensor quality, image processing and software optimisation, not megapixel counts alone.
Battery, Charging and Connectivity
The Moto Razr Flex is tipped to pack a 5,000mAh dual-cell battery. It could support USB Power Delivery wired charging and up to 25W Qi2 wireless charging.
Other reported features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and IP48/IP49 protection ratings. If these specifications make it into the retail model, they could help position the phone as a feature-rich option in the wide-foldable category.
The final charging speeds, durability claims and regional specifications will need confirmation from Motorola.
Design and Expected Colour Options
Leaked design information suggests that Motorola could offer the foldable in two Pantone-inspired finishes: Dark Botanical Garden and Coriander.
The rear design is reportedly expected to feature a pill-shaped camera module housing the two rear cameras and an LED flash. The phone’s wide, book-style folding design would distinguish it from Motorola’s traditional clamshell Razr models.
The reported colour names and design details have not yet been confirmed through a full official product announcement.
Moto Razr Flex vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Apple iPhone Duo
Motorola’s reported entry into the wide-foldable segment would put it in competition with devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Apple’s iPhone Duo.
The reported Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor may offer flagship-level performance, although it is important not to draw firm conclusions about overall performance without independent testing of the final device. Buyers should also consider software support, multitasking features, camera quality, hinge durability and battery life when comparing foldables.
The absence of a dedicated telephoto camera in the current leaks could be a disadvantage for users who want more versatile zoom photography. On the other hand, the large OLED screens, reported 5,000mAh battery and dual 50MP rear cameras could make the Moto Razr Flex an interesting option if these features are confirmed.
No reliable official price has been announced, so it is too early to determine whether Motorola will undercut Samsung or Apple.
Moto Razr Flex Launch Date and Expected Availability
The “Razr Flex 27” name appearing in the Geekbench listing has prompted speculation that Motorola may use a 2027 designation. It does not, by itself, confirm the phone’s launch year or release schedule.
Some reports point towards a possible late-2026 launch, but Motorola has not announced an official date. Pricing, storage variants and availability in India also remain unconfirmed.
Should You Wait for the Moto Razr Flex?
The Moto Razr Flex could be worth watching if you want a wide-format foldable with a large internal OLED screen, a useful cover display and a substantial battery. Its reported Snapdragon chipset, Android 17 software and dual 50MP rear cameras also make it a device to follow as more information emerges.
However, buyers should wait for Motorola to confirm the specifications, price, software-update policy and availability before making a purchase decision.
