
New Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS) A 23-year-old pregnant woman, who was infected with swine flu after getting admitted to a city hospital during her pregnancy, has died, an official said Friday. This was the seventh death due to the viral disease in the capital.
The woman, a resident of Krishna Nagar in east Delhi, was admitted to the LNJP Hospital Feb 5 and succumbed to the viral disease Feb 12.
According to the hospital's medical superintendent, the death could not be reported due to lack of coordination between the hospital and the Directorate of Health Services.
Delhi recorded 1,917 cases of swine flu till Thursday. The situation across India also worsened with the total number of positive cases Friday reaching 11,955, with 743 deaths.
