Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 27.3, bringing new artificial intelligence capabilities, expanded Siri integration and additional features for Apple Watch users. The company has also rolled out developer beta updates for iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3, watchOS 27.3, tvOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3.
The latest software release introduces a major development for Apple's AI ecosystem, as Siri AI integration is now open to developers through App Intents. Meanwhile, watchOS 27.3 brings two new Audio Intelligence features, called Siri Recap and Live Rewind, to compatible Apple Watch models.
The stable version of iOS 27.3 is expected to arrive in December 2026, although Apple has not announced an exact release date.
Siri AI Gets Expanded App Integration
One of the biggest highlights of iOS 27.3 is Apple's expanded Siri AI integration through App Intents. The new developer preview allows app developers to connect their applications directly with Apple's conversational AI assistant.
With this integration, users can interact with supported applications using natural-language commands instead of manually navigating multiple menus.
For example, Siri AI could help users manage tasks, send messages, find information, organise content or perform supported actions inside compatible applications. The feature is designed to make app interactions more conversational and convenient.
Apple says developers can use Siri AI integration to help customers discover and use their applications simply by asking the assistant. The capabilities available to users will depend on the applications and actions supported by their developers.
Siri AI is available in beta on compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled devices. Language and regional availability restrictions continue to apply.
Apple Watch Gets Siri Recap and Live Rewind
Apple has introduced two new Audio Intelligence features with watchOS 27.3 beta: Siri Recap and Live Rewind.
Siri Recap
Siri Recap is designed to summarise conversations and help users remember important information later.
The feature generates a high-level summary containing a title and key points instead of maintaining a complete conversation transcript. Users can review these summaries through the Siri app on their iPhone.
Siri Recap can also be scheduled according to time or location, allowing users to control when the feature operates. Summaries automatically disappear after seven days unless saved.
Live Rewind
Live Rewind allows users to revisit the last 15 seconds of spoken conversation.
By double-pressing the Digital Crown on a compatible Apple Watch, users can access a text transcription of the previous 15 seconds. This could be useful when someone misses an important instruction or wants to recall something said during a conversation.
Apple says the feature is designed with privacy protections. Live Rewind is activated through a physical interaction, and the watch provides an audible notification when it is used.
Both features are available in beta on Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. They also require a compatible iPhone 16 or later with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI.
iOS 27.3 Beta: Health App Changes
Reports surrounding iOS 27.3 have also discussed possible changes to Apple's Health app, including new Insights and Longevity sections.
However, these specific Health app changes have not been independently confirmed in Apple's official iOS 27.3 beta release notes. Users should therefore wait for an official announcement or further verified information before treating these features as confirmed additions.
iOS 27.3 Release Date: When Will Users Get the Update?
Apple has currently released iOS 27.3 as a developer beta for testing purposes. The update is intended primarily for developers who want to test their applications against the upcoming software version.
The public beta may follow during the testing period, allowing eligible users enrolled in Apple's beta programme to try the update before its final release.
The stable iOS 27.3 update is expected to arrive in December 2026. Apple has not confirmed a specific date for the final rollout.
Some Apple Intelligence and Audio Intelligence features will require compatible hardware, supported languages and eligible regions. Consequently, not every feature announced with the update will necessarily be available on every iPhone or Apple Watch.
What iOS 27.3 Means for Apple Users
The iOS 27.3 beta represents another step in Apple's expansion of artificial intelligence across its software ecosystem.
The developer integration for Siri AI could make third-party applications easier to operate through conversational commands, while Siri Recap and Live Rewind introduce new ways to interact with conversations using Apple Watch.
Users interested in testing these features should remember that beta software can contain bugs and unfinished functionality. Installing a developer beta on a primary device may affect performance, battery life or application compatibility.
For most users, waiting for the public beta or stable release remains the more practical option.
