In the letter sent on January 4, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) clearly stated that there are serious concerns regarding the team's security in the current situation. Speaking to the media, Aminul Islam said that this decision was not taken hastily.

We held two important meetings with all the board directors on this matter. In the current situation, we don't feel it's safe to send our team to India. Security is the biggest issue for us." - BCB President.
The BCB president also clarified that the board initially planned to present three key points to the ICC, but ultimately decided to proceed with only one formal request. Islam said,
"We have sent an email to the ICC and hope that they will meet with us soon, where we will explain our concerns in detail. Aminul Islam also clarified that there is no communication with the BCCI on this entire matter. This is an ICC tournament, so all our discussions are with the ICC. What happens next will depend on the ICC's response." - BCB President.
