Lucknow, Feb 5 (IANS) Online tickets will now be made available for historical monuments and buildings here to improve facilities for tourists in the Uttar Pradesh capital city, an official said Thursday.
The facility, which is being arranged for by the Hussainabad Trust, will begin Feb 14.
Historically important sites such as Satkhanda, Clock Tower, Bada Imambada, Chota Imambada, Picture Gallery, Shahi Talaab and Shahnazaf Imambada which are looked after the Trust will now have both online and onsite ticketing facilities, officials said.
District Magistrate Rajshekhar said the forms for e-tickets will have a passport-sized photograph taken from a personal webcam which would be uploaded on the ticketing server.
The operations are being outsourced to a private company for the first few months after which the Trust would take over.
A combo ticket pack enabling tourists to visit all heritage buildings with one ticket is also being considered and would be announced soon, an official said.
