Maharashtra ex-deputy CM R.R. Patil is dead

Mumbai, Feb 16 (IANS) Former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Raosaheb Ramrao Patil, who was diagnosed with cancer recently, is dead, a party spokesperson said here Monday.

Patil was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital a couple of months ago and had undergone surgery for cancer, said Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state spokesperson Nawab Malik.
