In 2018, 53-year-old interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother committed suicide. The CID is investigating this case. This led to his family being strapped. Troubled, Anvay committed suicide with his elderly mother. Anvay also allegedly accused Arnab and two others in the suicide note.

Akshata claims that Raigarh police had registered an FIR in this case, but did not properly investigate the case. However, according to the then SP of Raigad, Anil Paraskar, no evidence was found against the accused in the case. The police had also filed a report in court. Akshata says that she also pleaded for justice with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
