China's efforts to unite the 10 island countries of the Pacific Ocean region have suffered a setback. Recently, China, which increased the challenge of countries like America, Japan, and Australia by signing a security deal with the Solomon Islands, was expected to sign a deal with 10 countries. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had reached Fiji for the meeting with the same hope, but no agreement could be agreed upon. During this, Wang Yi told the island countries not to keep any kind of fear in their mind about China's ambitions. Australian media group ABC News said in its report, 'China had planned to enter into agreements with 10 island countries of the Pacific Ocean region, which could not be successful.'
According to the report, many of the island countries had raised objections to some elements of the agreement. China has tried to increase its diplomatic intervention in the South Pacific region. Whereas regional power Australia and America together with it are also trying to maintain their supremacy. Concerns have also been expressed about China's interference, but Dragon dismissed them, saying that its goal is not to target any third country. On Monday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in his written statement that Xi Jinping has always considered you all good friends.
China said - we are equal partners with every country
For us, the countries of the Pacific Ocean are like brothers and partners. We don't care how things change internationally. In a statement issued by the Chinese government, Xi Jinping was quoted as saying, 'It does not matter how the international landscape changes. China will always be your good friend and will follow the same ideals. China said that we will always be committed to the equality of all countries. For this, it is not important how big that country is. We aim to maintain strong friendly relations with the island countries.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is on a 7-nation visit
After the meeting, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that all countries have discussed cooperation on 5 issues. However, some issues still need to be discussed between us. According to Reuters, the 5 issues discussed include economic recovery after Corona, new centers on agriculture and disaster, etc. However, there was no security issue involved. The leaders of Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, etc. were present in this meeting. It is worth noting that Wang Yi is on a visit to 7 island countries these days. In such a situation, not being able to sign an agreement with these countries is a big blow to China.
