Children under 12 years of age will be vaccinated in Singapore from January 1 next year. For this, the government is doing special planning. The Ministry of Health gave this information on Saturday. Kenneth Mak, director of medical services at the Ministry of Health, said in a press conference that children under the age of 12 make up about 11.2 percent of the total cases of corona here. Four weeks ago this figure was 6.7 percent. He said that the government is going to take concrete steps in the matter of vaccination of children.

Maak said that health officials are working with the expert committee on corona vaccines to protect children between the ages of 5 and 11 years from corona and to expand the national immunization program. He said the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) would also work with Pfizer on necessary regulatory approvals. We hope that we may be able to launch an expanded national immunization program after these approvals for children under 12 years of age. Hopefully, in January 2022, we will start vaccinating children. At present, the Ministry of Health is giving a booster dose for six months after the second dose for people aged 30 to 59 years and for five months for those aged 60 years and above.

On Friday, 1734 new cases of the corona were reported in Singapore, while 16 people died. Those who died included people in the age group of 52 to 93 years. This information was given by the Ministry of Health. Earlier on Thursday, 2,038 people were infected with Corona.
