Dilip Valse Patil may be the new Home Minister of Maharashtra. He will take over the post following the resignation of Anil Deshmukh, surrounded by allegations of recovery of Rs 100 crore. Dilip Valse Patil is an MLA from the Pune Rural Assembly seat. Dilip Valsay Patil is considered one of the NCP's clean-image leaders. He has been a minister in the Maharashtra government several times and has also held the post of speaker of the assembly. Besides, Sharad Pawar is considered one of the closest leaders in NCP. However, he has not been officially confirmed to be the Home Minister. Sources in the NCP said that Patil was offered to become the Home Minister even during the formation of the coalition government, but refused it for health reasons.

Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh was transferred by the Uddhav Thackeray government in connection with the recovery of explosives from a suspicious car found outside the businessman Mukesh Ambani's house. Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vazhe has been arrested by the NIA in this case. Parambir Singh alleged that Anil Deshmukh was given the target of recovering Rs 100 crore every month from Mumbai by Sachin Vazhe. Parambir Singh made this allegation in a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray. Since this letter, the resignation of Anil Deshmukh was being demanded by the opposition.

Apart from this, Parambir Singh also moved the Supreme Court and Bombay High Court. Though no order was issued on his application, on Monday, on the application of advocate Jayashree Patil, the court ordered the CBI to conduct a preliminary inquiry against Deshmukh. The court says that in 15 days the CBI will give the report and based on that it will be decided whether to file a case against Deshmukh or not. After this High Court order, once again the demand for Deshmukh's resignation was intensified and finally, after talks with Sharad Pawar, Anil Deshmukh resigned from the post.
