In the first innings of the Melbourne Test match, India dismissed all the players of Australia for 195 runs in 72.3 overs.

This is the second match in a four-Test series. India lost the first Test match played in Adelaide.

Today, India started well under Ajinkya Rahane's captaincy.

In the Test match being played at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia, Australia decided to bat first by winning the toss. From Australia, Marnus Laboshen scored the most 48 runs. Joe Burns and Steven Smith could not even open an account.

Jasprit Bumrah took the most wickets from India. Bumrah took four wickets for 56 runs in 16 overs. R Ashwin remained at number two. He took three wickets for 35 runs in 24 overs. Mohammad Siraj took two wickets.

The opening of Australia's Joe Burns and Matthew Wade soon shattered. In the fourth over itself, Joe Burns lost his wicket off Jasprit Bumrah. He was caught by Rishabh Pant and thus Australia's first wicket fell on 10 runs.

After this, Ravindra Jadeja caught the catch of Mathieu Wade in the thirteenth over off Ashwin.

Shubham Gill also ran to take the catch and finally hit Jadeja. But Jadeja did not let the ball fall and successfully took the catch. This catch of Jadeja on social media is being highly praised.

After this Steve Smith came on the pitch but was caught by Pujara without scoring any runs in the 15th over. This was the second big wicket for Ashwin.

By the 15th over, Australia had scored 38 runs for the loss of three wickets.

Rahane sent Travis back to the pavilion off Jaspreet Bumrah in the 42nd over.

By 63 overs, Australia had scored 156 runs losing seven wickets.

In their first Test match, Shubham Gill and Mohammad Siraj have also opened the account. On the ball of Mohammad Siraj, Marnus Laboshen was caught by Shubham Gill and Australia lost their fifth wicket.

This can be a good chance for India to return after an embarrassing defeat in the Adelaide Test. In this four-Test series, Australia has won the first match and has an edge.

Australia is trying to take revenge on India this time. Two years ago India defeated them 2–1 in the Border-Gavaskar Test Series. Then Steve Smith and David Warner were forced out of the game in case of ball-tampering.

This time also both teams are in the field without important players. Warner is out due to injury in the first Test while the Indian team is also waiting for Rohit Sharma. Fast bowler Ishant Sharma is also out of the series. Apart from this, captain Virat Kohli has also gone on leave since the Adelaide Test. Kohli has decided to go on leave to become a father. India won the first series in Australia two years ago.

Australia is currently number one in the ICC Test Championship and India is at number two. Both the countries have played limited-overs before the Test series. Australia won the ODI series 2–1 against India, while India defeated Australia in the T20.

On the third day of the Adelaide Test, Australia defeated India by eight wickets.

Chasing 90 runs to win, the host team scored 93 for two to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Earlier on the third day of the Test, India's second innings was reduced to just 36 runs.
