Posted on 19th Feb 2021 01:45 pm by rohit kumar

PM Modi attended it digitally at the convocation of Visva Bharati University. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar also attended the program. In the ceremony, PM Modi talked about the new education policy from the educated people spreading terror in the world. Apart from this, talked about the knowledge wealth of Bengal.

Let us know that assembly elections are going to be held in West Bengal very soon, due to which PM Modi's address is being considered very special.

My request is, for the next 25 years, students of Visva Bharati should make a vision document. In the year 2047, when India will celebrate 100 years of its independence, what will be the 25 biggest goals of Vishwa Bharati, these can be kept in this vision document: PM

Vishwa Bharati should lead the education institutions of the country to make India realize what it is, humanity, spirituality, the spirit of world welfare in every particle of our blood.

-Bengal gave leadership to the country in advancing India's rich knowledge-science in the past. Bengal, one India, has been the inspiration and site of the best India: PM

- The systems that Gurudev developed in Visva-Bharati, the methods he developed, were a means to free India's education system from the shackles of subordination, modernize it: PM

- Before the British education system was imposed on India, Thomas Munro saw the strength of the Indian education system and the Indian education system. He had seen how vibrant our education system is: PM

Today is also the birth anniversary of the great Gandhian Dharampal Ji. One of his works is - The Beautiful Tree- Indigenous Indian Education in the Eighteenth Century. I want to mention this while talking to you today, this book also mentions William Adam who found that in 1830 there were more than one lakh village schools in Bengal and Bihar.

You see, among those who are spreading terror in the world, who are spreading violence in the world, there are many Highly Learned, Highly Skilled people. On the other hand, some people are working in labs all day to liberate the world from the global epidemic like Corona: PM

-If your intention is clear and your loyalty is towards Ma Bharti, then every decision of yours will move towards some solution. Success and failure do not determine our present and future. You may not get the results you thought after a decision, but you should not be afraid to make a decision: PM

-Your knowledge, your skill, can also make a society proud, a nation and it can also push society into the darkness of slander and ruin. There are many such examples in history and present: PM

Just as, one has to be restrained and sensitive while in power, similarly every scholar, every knowledgeable person has to be responsible towards those who do not have that power. Your knowledge is not only yours but also the society's heritage of the country: PM

- Attending this convocation is inspiring and delightful. It would have been nice if I had come to attend the ceremony in person today, but due to the new rules (COVID19) I am attending the event through video conferencing: PM Modi

- PM Narendra Modi attended the convocation of Visva-Bharati University through video conferencing.

The Prime Minister is the Chancellor of this university located in Birbhum district of West Bengal. The university said in a statement that Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar will attend the convocation. The Governor is also the Rector of Visva-Bharati.

The convocation will start at Amr Kunj in Shanti Niketan campus at 9.30 am and will last for two and a half hours. A limited number of students will also be present at the ceremony.

A total of 2,535 students will receive their degrees during the ceremony. Visva-Bharati was founded by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in 1921 and is the oldest central university in the country. Prime Minister Modi is also the Chancellor of the University.
