Asoha police station is about 50 km from Unnao district headquarters. Baburaha village is about three km from the police station. On Thursday, the postmortem of both girls took place in the district hospital of Unnao, but no clear cause of death could be revealed in the postmortem report. Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Unnao, Dr. Tanmay Kakkar told on Thursday that he has not seen the report yet.

But on Thursday evening, UP Director General of Police Hitesh Chandra Awasthi gave information about the report in a video statement and said, "No injury marks have been found on the bodies of the two girls, either external or internal. The cause of death. Could not be clear, so the viscera has been kept safe for investigation. "

Unnao's deputy CMO Dr Tanmay Kakkar told the BBC that without chemical examination it is difficult to say that the girls died due to poisoning. In this regard, Unnao Superintendent of Police Suresh Kulkarni said after the incident that foam was found at the scene, which led to the fear that girls may have died due to poisoning.

The next day after the incident, the father of one of the dead girls lodged a report of murder against unknown people at the Asoha police station. It has also been recorded in the FIR that a scarf was wrapped around the neck of dead girls and foam was coming out of both of them. A third girl was also found in the same condition, who is undergoing treatment at Regency Hospital, Kanpur.

After the postmortem, the bodies of the girls were handed over to the family members late Thursday evening, which was cremated on Friday morning. The JCB machine was also called by the administration on Thursday to bury the dead girls, but JCB machines were sent back due to strong opposition from some villagers and activists of some political parties.

Girls from the same family

The entire Baburaha village remained a cantonment throughout the day on Thursday. Barriers were installed at three places on the way to the village, where every goer was being searched. Even the media persons were not allowed to cross the barrier without seeing the identity card. Apart from Unnao DM Ravindra Kumar and Anand Kulkarni, Inspector General of Police of Lucknow Region Laxmi Singh was also present there throughout the day.

In the evening, Laxmi Singh told the BBC, "No pressure has been made for the last rites. We have given them complete security. It depends on the family when they want to do the last rites."

These three girls are from the same family. They have two cousins, who are 13 years old and 16 years old. While the third girl looked like both of them in a relationship. Among them is a 16-year-old girl who is undergoing treatment in Kanpur in a critical condition.

IG Laxmi Singh said that the condition of the girl is improving. But the family kept demanding to shift him from Kanpur to a good hospital in Delhi. The District Magistrate of Unnao has written to the hospital management informing that the State Government will provide full expenses for the treatment of the girl child.

The woman, a relative of one of the dead girls, said in a rage, "We don't even know if she is alive or she died too. Her condition was worse from here. We kept saying that she should be admitted elsewhere To be given, but the policemen did not listen to us. He is aware of the incident. If he is not saved, we will not know what happened to our girls and who did all this. "

Police gathering

At present, the police have formed six teams for investigation and a heavy police force has been deployed throughout the village. There was a gathering of leaders of political parties throughout the day on Thursday.

There is anger and surprise in the village about this incident. There are hardly six-seven houses of Dalits in the village, including the homes of the victims' families.

Dayaram, an old man from the village, said, "The girls often used to go to the fields to cut fodder. Other girls from the village also used to go. But nothing like this ever happened. Any dispute of any of these people in the village. was not."

One of the deceased's brother told that all three used to go to school earlier, but since the school closed after the lockdown, all were staying at home.

The brother said, "My sister used to study in 10th, while the other dead girl was my niece. Her mother died in childhood. Both I and my brother work as laborers. I do not understand how this happens." Who has gone and done it? "

Apart from the family, the police are also surprised about the causes of death. But the family members of the dead and the villagers have alleged that the police are constantly harassing the family members and want to prove them responsible for the murder.

The youngest girl dead in the incident had the largest police gathering outside the slum house. Many officers of the Unnao district were also standing there.

What are the people of the house saying

As soon as we started talking to the mother of the dead girl sitting on the cot inside the house, without putting a nameplate on the uniform, a woman policeman held her hand and instructed her not to say anything.

A police officer kept refusing to record the conversation with the cameraman present with us without putting a nameplate on the back. However, we also talked to the dead girl's mother and her sister-in-law.

The mother of the dead girl told the BBC, "All three used to go together. What can we tell what has happened. There has also been a wrongdoing with our girls. The men of my house, the children have been taken away by the police. The entire search of our house was done. Everything, papers and papers were taken away. Where are the people of the house, we do not know anything? "

Another woman, who supported the dead girl's mother, said, "All the men are in the police station. The policemen have taken away everything from the house. The medicines have been taken away by the children. She has committed suicide by eating, but why would she do this? And if she had committed suicide, how would she have been tied to the scarf. "

During the conversation, the women police officers constantly appealed to them to move away and walk inside.

Meanwhile, the family members have written to the District Magistrate of Unnao demanding that the investigation be handed over to the SIT, compensation to the family members, and the girl who is being treated in Kanpur, be shifted to AIIMS in Delhi.
