President Assigns Additional Charge to Governors

New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee Friday allotted Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki additional charge of Punjab and of Chandigarh administrator and Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh additional charge of Himachal Pradesh, a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.

Solanki gets the additional responsibility as incumbent Shivraj V. Patil completes his tenure Jan 21.

In Himachal, Urmila Singh's gubernatorial tenure ends Jan 24.
