
New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee Tuesday extended greetings and felicitations to the Amir and the people of the State of Kuwait who celebrate their national day Feb 25, an official statement said.
"On behalf of the government and the people of India and on my own behalf, I am pleased to extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Highness and to the people of the State of Kuwait on the occasion of your National Day," Mukherjee said in a message to Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Drawing upon the importance of bilateral ties between the two countries, Mukherjee said "India deeply values its friendly ties with the State of Kuwait, marked by close people-to-people contacts."
"The positive contribution of the Indian community in the development of Kuwait is an important pillar of our excellent bilateral relations. I am confident that our mutually beneficial ties will continue to diversify and strengthen in the years to come," he added.
The president conveyed his best wishes for the good health and well being of the Amir, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the "friendly" people of Kuwait.
