Rohit Sharma calls R Ashwin, who broke Kapil Dev's record in Tests, the greatest player of all time

Posted on 7th Mar 2022 10:08 am by rohit kumar

After winning the first Test under his captaincy, Rohit Sharma said, 'It was a good start and we did well in all departments. When Rohit was talked about Ashwin's achievement, he said that achieving this feat is a big thing in his cricket career. When you grow up with the desire to play Test cricket, you don't dream about these things, so achieving it is a big achievement for them. I have been watching Ashwin play for a long time and whenever I see him, he seems to be getting better and better.

Rohit Sharma said that Ashwin is such a player who always believes in his ability. In my opinion, he is the greatest player of all time. He has been playing for so many years and performing for the country. So many match-winning performances, so he's the greatest player of all time for me. People may have different views but from where I look, he is one of the greatest players of all time for me. Let us tell you that R Ashwin has broken Kapil Dev's record and he has come second in terms of taking wickets for India in Tests.

On why R Ashwin is not picked regularly in the playing XI on overseas tours, Rohit Sharma said, "Frankly, nothing can tell you about the place in the team on overseas tours why he is not in the team and the final Why are you not in the XI? Of course, I don't know because I was not part of the selection at that time and I can't tell you what happened. Why was he kept out and why didn't he play?'

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja said that I would call it a lucky ground for myself. Whenever I come here, I feel positive. While batting I was trying to partner with Rishabh Pant, giving him the strike and enjoying his batting from the other end. To be honest, I don't know of any figures. My performance here has boosted my confidence a lot.

Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne said that when you are playing against India, you have to take advantage of the opportunities from the very beginning. It was easy to bat on this pitch. Once you start, you have to score big. If we had bowled better, we could have stopped India. We were too defensive or too aggressive with the bat. It needs to be balanced by rotating the strike.
