
Riots broke out in Mexico following the arrest of Ovidio Guzmán-López, the son of drug lord El Chapo. Gang members protesting against his arrest torched several vehicles on the streets. They attacked an airport and fired on two planes. Three soldiers of the security forces were killed during the firing. According to the governor of Sinaloa state, more than 18 injured have been hospitalized so far.
Father's drug network runs Ovideo
Ovidio, 32, is known in the world of drug trafficking as 'The Mouse'. Together with his brothers, he operates the drug network of father El Chapo. It is counted among the world's largest drug networks. El Chapo, 65, is serving a life sentence in a US prison. He was sentenced in 2019 for drug trafficking and money laundering.
100 flights were canceled in Sinaloa, and school closed

Ovidio arrested after 6 months of preparation

In fact, in December 2022, the US announced a reward of $ 5 million, or Rs 41.3 crore, to the person giving information about Ovidio and his brothers. Ovidio was also arrested in 2019 but was released after gang members threatened to incite violence.
Ovidio runs 11 drug labs
