Thiruvananthapuram, March 29 (IANS) Defence Minister A.K. Antony Saturday said BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's "three AK" statement wherein he termed Antony and Arvind Kejriwal as "Pakistan's agents" was an inappropriate comment.
Modi at election rallies at Hira Nagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Bulandshahar (Uttar Pradesh) and Seelampur (Delhi) on March 26 mentioned AK 47, A.K. Antony and AK 49 (referring to Arvind Kejriwal's 49-day stint as chief minister of Delhi).
"I doubt if any true patriot of our country would make such a reference because this will demoralise the armed forces. It was an inappropriate comment from a PM candidate," said Antony.
He was interacting with the media here in Kerala's capital as part of an election-related meet organised by the Press Club here.
"I am not personally pained by his remarks and am not one who will react in the same manner attacking individuals. But he attacking our weapons will indirectly benefit the enemy. Let the people of India judge," added Antony.
