Changing perceptions, losing touch

Mistakes made, words said,

Apologies given, refused,

A goodbye

That didn't want to be said.

Tears of pain run down my cheek,

But a person can be excessively careful, too.

In the darkness, in the silence,

Only faint memories of joy are heard.
