He said that he (Rahul Gandhi) should know that there is a fisheries department, for which an investment of Rs 20,050 crore has been made by the Central Government. Giriraj Singh did not stop here. He further said, 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown the work that was not done by your grandfather and others in 70 years.

 

Let me tell you that today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi interacted with fishermen on the Thangassery coast of Kollam district. Assembly elections are due in Kerala this year. Congress leaders have been visiting the state for the last two days. Rahul along with the fishermen sat in his boat and also went to sea. He started his journey from the Wadi coast at 4.30 am and stayed there for about an hour and then reached the negotiating point.

 

He along with the fishermen threw a fishing net into the sea and caught fish with them. Wearing a blue t-shirt and khaki pants, the Congress leader shook hands of the people standing there while returning to the coast. All India Congress Committee General Secretary KC Venugopal and MP TN Pratapan were also with Rahul Gandhi during this period. Pratapan is also the President of the National Fishermen Congress.

 

During the conversation, Gandhi said that he always wanted to experience mustache life. He said, "Early today I went to sea with my brothers. From the start of the boat journey until its return, they took all the threats… worked hard. They go to the sea, buy nets but someone else takes advantage of it. ''

 

He said, "We tried to catch fish but found only one fish." The net remained empty even after so much hard work. This is my experience. ”Rahul further said that he would struggle to form a separate ministry related to fisheries in the central government. So that the fishermen community gets relief from these problems and their interests are protected. ''

 

He said that Congress-led UDF leaders in the state would soon form a separate manifesto for them in the assembly elections after consulting the fishermen community. Taking a direct attack on the Left Front-led LDF government over the controversy over the alleged contract for deep sea fishing, he said he wanted to see what they were going to do with the big ships. He said, "I believe in competition… but not in unfair competition." There should be equal ground for all players.
