Significantly, Russia is constantly targeting the energy-producing cities of Ukraine. Most Russian forces had stormed and captured the Chernobyl plant. However, this plant was closed for a long time. After this, the zaporizhzhia plant was attacked on Friday morning, due to which there was a fire. The Russian army has also captured it. After the fire at the zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant, officials said that all the workers of the plant are safe and the radiation level is also normal. During this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of resorting to nuclear terror. Also, said that Putin wants to repeat the Chernobyl accident of 1986. If there is an explosion, everything will be over. Europe will end.

 

What is the importance of the zaporizhzhia Plant?

 

The zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant, located 550 kilometers southeast of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, supplies a quarter of Ukraine's electricity needs. According to the information, Russian forces opened fire on the zaporizhzhia plant on Friday morning, causing a fire there. The plant was constructed between 1984 and 1995. It is the largest nuclear plant in Europe, which is ranked ninth in the world. The plant has a total of six reactors, which supply a total of 5700 MW of electricity. That is, 950 MW of power is supplied from one reactor. If you look at the figures, this power plant supplies electricity to about 4 million homes across Ukraine. In normal times, the plant produces one-fifth of Ukraine's electricity supply and about half of the energy generated from the country's nuclear power facilities.
